mig: Mega Townships for the Middle Income Group | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) is keen on developing affordable settlements for the middle income group (MIG). With huge public response on the business being developed in Navuluru in the capital region, the authority is now focusing on developing mega townships in Kesarapalli and three other locations around the city.
The state government had asked urban development authorities across the state to identify land needed to develop smart cities for middle-class housing. APCRDA, which became inactive after 2019 with the proposal to decentralize state capital, became active again and launched an exercise to identify land for development.
Revenue authorities have identified land in the village of Kesarapalli, just two kilometers from Gannavaram airport. The market value of land in Kesarapalli is 70 lakh per acre and the government has decided to pay 1.86 crore per acre.
Similarly, APCRDA is preparing to develop another smart housing colony at Kothuru Tadepalli, about 6 kilometers from the city. Farmers from Purushothama Patnam came forward to donate their 90 acres of land to the MIG project.
APCRDA Commissioner Vijayakrishnan said they were working on developing smart layouts for MIG over an area of around 450 acres. She said development works will begin soon after land is purchased from farmers.
